License key is a unique symbol sequence that activates AdGuard. License key is required for AdGuard’s work after trial period's expiration. There are two types of licenses available:
Personal - This license key allows you to activate AdGuard on any three devices.
- Family - This license key allows you to activate AdGuard on any nine devices.
Please notice: all types of licenses are universal. You can use any license to activate AdGuard on any of the operating systems — Windows, Mac, Android, or iOS.

How to activate AdGuard with a license key?
Activating AdGuard for Windows
- Open the program.
To do it, doubleclick on the AdGuard icon on the desktop:
or double click on the AdGuard icon in the system tray:
- Go to License in the main menu, then click Activate license.
- You will be presented with two options for activation:
- Via entering Login and Password from AdGuard account.
- Via entering the license key.
Activating AdGuard for Mac
- Open AdGuard menu.
To do it, click on the AdGuard icon in the menu bar:
- Open options menu by clicking on gear icon and choose License...
- In the opened window press Activate.
- You will be presented with two options for activation:
- Activation by entering Login and Password from AdGuard account.
- Activation with the license key.
Activating AdGuard for Android
- Open the application and go to the license menu.
To do so, tap the Get Premium button at the top of the screen.
You can also go to the license menu by tap to License Status:
- Click the three dots in the top right corner of the screen
In the small window you will see 3 functions:
- Get a free trial (14-day trial period).
- Activate Premium.
- Restore purchases (Restores the license if you've reinstalled the app).
- After you press Activate Premium, you will be presented with several activation options:
- Enter Login and Password from AdGuard account.
- Sign in with one of the social networks (Twitter, Google Account, Facebook, Yandex, VK).
- Activation with the license key.
Activating AdGuard for iOS
Open the application menu and tap on the gear icon in the right top corner of the screen.
- Then go to About > License. You will see that window:
- You can purchase the license directly from the AppStore, or activate Premium using authorization in AdGuard account.
Note: For successful activation you need to have at least one 'free' license on your account.
Transfering license to another device
Once the program is activated with a license key, the license key is “bound” to the device on which activation was held. License key may be activated on a limited number of devices. If the license key is already used on the maximum possible number of devices, you need to reset it before using this key again. You can do it in your AdGuard Account.
How to recover my license key?
You can easily find out which license keys belong to you in your AdGuard Account.
The binding of your license key with your account is held with your email address, which was used for purchasing of AdGuard.
Please note that it is often not enough to just find out what your license key is. If it was already used on another computer, it’s necessary to unbind it from that computer through the AdGuard Account before using it again.
How to register the AdGuard Account?
Adguard Store
If you purchased the AdGuard License key – your Account is already registered with your email which was used by the purchase. You were to receive an email on the automatic registration of your Personal account and the link for its activation. If you haven’t received this email or forgot your password you can recover your password.

AdGuard Account gives you an opportunity to manage your license keys and their binding with your computers.

What functions are available in my AdGuard personal account?
When you enter the AdGuard personal account you will see the list of your license keys and their current status.
This is how you can manage your AdGuard licenses and subscriptions.
Renew or upgrade
You can renew your key for another year, switch to Lifetime protection or make your license Family (thus adding more devices to it).
Unbind from the device
If the license key is activated on one or more computers you will see the list of these devices under the license key. License key can be activated on a limited number of devices, before using it again you will have to unbind it from one of the computers.
To unbind the license key from the device just click at the 'cross' near the license as it’s showed on this picture:
Change card details or cancel subscription
To do so, find the subscription you need to manage and click on the card icon near it:
What to do after the key was renewed?
Once you have renewed AdGuard for another year - you will need to restart the program/app or go to the 'License' section and refresh the license status for changes to take effect.
Payment options
You can purchase an AdGuard license on our website. To do so:
1. Go to the payment page.
2. Depending on whether you want to prolong an existing license key or to purchase a new one, choose the appropriate option.
3. Choose the license type. Currently, we have two different license types - Personal and Family.
4. Choose the preferred currency, license period and the number of devices you want to use AdGuard on.
5. Enter and confirm your email address.
Attention! Please, pay close attention to the email address you enter. The license key will be sent to this address, and it will be used to automatically create your AdGuard personal account. Make sure you don't make any typos.
6. Choose the payment method.
We offer the possibility to pay with a credit card or PayPal.
License key activation
The purchased license key will be sent to the indicated email address. You need to activate your AdGuard with this license key. The detailed instruction on how to do it is available here.
Refund policy
To get a refund, contact our support team and indicate what payment option you used. Note that refunds may be rejected if you've purchased the license key more than 60 days ago.

Install Docker via Synology “Package Center”.
Open Docker Package. From the Docker Console, go to Registry and search adguard. Look for adguard/adguardhome and select it, then click Download. You will be prompted to Choose Tag, select latest. Follow the instructions in the image below.
After you click “Select”, the download process of the AdGuard docker container will start. You can click on Image on the Docker Console to see the download progress. The current container is about 47 MB. Follow the instructions in the image below.
Go to File Station and open the docker folder. Inside the docker folder, create a new folder and name it “adguard“. Follow the instructions in the image below.
Note: Be careful enter only lowercase, not uppercase letters.
Now create two new folders inside the adguard folder that you created at STEP 5: name one “config” and the other “data“. Follow the instructions in the image below.

Now go back to the Docker Package. After the download is completed from the Docker Console, go to Image, then select the adguard/adguardhome:latest container. Click Launch. Check “Execute container using high privilege”, then click Advanced Settings. Follow the instructions in the image below.
Select Enable auto-restart and Create shortcut on desktop. Follow the instructions in the image below.
Next tab – “Volume“. Select Add Folder. Follow the instructions in the image below.
Choose the config folder, then click Select. Follow the instructions in the image below.
After you click Select, type /opt/adguardhome/conf inside Mount path. Follow the instructions in the image below.
Click Add Folder again. Choose data folder, then click Select. Follow the instructions in the image below.
After you click Select, type /opt/adguardhome/work/data inside Mount path. Follow the instructions in the image below.
Next tab – “Network“. Check “Use the same network as Docker Host”. Follow the instructions in the image below.
Next tab – “Port Settings“ move forward without doing anything (no action needed).
Next tab – “Links“ move forward without doing anything (no action needed).
Next tab – “Environment“. Click the + to add the variable and Value.
On the variable area type: TZ and on the Value Area add: Europe/Bucharest (Select your current Time Zone from this list). After that, click Apply. Follow the instructions in the image below.
After clicking “Apply“, the screen below will open. Click “Next“. Follow the instructions in the image below.
After clicking “Next“, the screen below will open. Select “Run this container after the wizard is finished” then click “Apply“. Follow the instructions in the image below.
Go back to STEP 1or you will deal with karma 🙂. Do you remember that at STEP 8 you selected the option Create shortcut on desktop? If you did everything correctly, you will find the adguard shortcut on your DSM desktop. Open it, then click Log. Follow the instructions in the image below.
Copy your IP link from the log. It’s your NAS IP ending with :3000 – Follow the instructions in the image below.

Now open your browser and type in http://Synology-ip-address:3000/ and log into AdGuard. Install and Set it up according to your preference. Enjoy!
Note: I installed the AdGuard container on my Synology NAS DS718+
Note: On STEP 7 you can change the container name according to your preference.
Note: Admin Web Interface Error message: Listen tcp 0.0.0.0:80 bind: address already in use. This means that something on your system probably a web server like Apache already listening on port 80. You can solve it by changing port from 80 to 8080. Follow the instructions in the image below.
Note: DNS Server Error message: listen udp 0.0.0.0:53: bind: address already in use.
In this Scenario something else is listening to the local DNS port 53 or AdGuard Home doesn’t have privileges. You have Followed STEP 7 ? If yes and doesn’t work, disable DHCP on your Synology NAS Control Panel / DHCP Server then select “Disable DHCP Server“. Now try again to open AdGuard Home. If this work, don’t miss to go back on STEP 1.
